All last night I could hear loud wind outside our window. I was too tired and sleepy to care but it was loud enough to wake me up at least a couple of times. I thought for sure our power would go out -- it always does when it is windy. But it didn't. I got up, went to work and did everything I need to do to get the store open, opened up at 10 then 10 minutes later at 10:10 the entire mall lost power. The ENTIRE mall!! Everything closed including the Starbucks across the road, much to the dismay of everybody hoping to grab a coffee while waiting for the power to return. I stayed for a couple more hours till around 12:30, then got the go ahead to just close up shop. As of now (it's almost 4 PM), there still is no power in that part of Richmond. There were a lot of power outages and the crews are out in full force just trying to keep up! Bad thing is we have an awesome sale and lots of inventory waiting to be snatched up, so we've lost one day to the windstorm. Good thing is, I was able to come home and spend some time with the kids and Doug who just got back from Italy yesterday. We had lunch together and now it's just a quiet afternoon here at home. Sweet.
I am making more handmade cards to display at the store. We have an amazing selection of acrylic and wood mounted stamps from Stampendous and here is a card I made using one of the many Christmas wood mounted stamps we have from Stampendous.
The holly and berry image is stamped with Stazon black and watercolored using the inkpads from Ranger. I notched all 4 corners and added a brad on each corner for detail. The piercing on the bottom edges finish up the card quite nicely!
Blog you later.
