We have a Keurig coffeemaker and one of the things I don't like about it is the plastic cup some of the coffee comes in. I say some because more and more manufacturers have come out with biodegradable cups that are better for the environment. What used to be this:
Now looks like this:
We only use the biodegradable ones now, but I had an idea for recycling the old plastic kind and had saved them from when we used them in the past....and I asked friends and co-workers to bring me their used plastic cups. I had been thinking of ways to re-use the cups and thought, EASTER! I made these.
Each of the plastic cups contain a couple of solid Dove milk chocolate egss.
I made the lids using 2 sizes of circle punches -- the 1 3/4 and 1 2/8 punch and then the bottom layer in turquoise was made using the Starburst Framelits. These framelits dies have 5 concentric circles shaped like starbursts. I used the 2nd smallest size with turquoise cardstock.
For the greeting, I used the "Happy Easter" stamp from the Stampin' Up set called "Teeny, Tiny Wishes". I have always loved this set because it really does have all the greetings you would ever need to make a card.
Do you have any other ideas on how you recycle your Keurig cups? If so, please share. I'd love to see them :)
Have a wonderful Easter long weekend, don't eat too much chocolate and remember to be grateful for everything you have in your life. I am grateful for everything and everyone I have in mine!
