My niece, Celine got married last month to her long time boyfriend and now husband, Eric. These 2 have been together since high school days -- a testament to the saying, "if you are meant to be together, you will be together." I witnessed them grow up from high school teenagers to young adults and I witnessed their love for each other come full circle as they exchanged vows on February 11 of this year. It was a beautiful wedding, held at the Terminal City Club in downtown Vancouver, B.C.
The week before the wedding, Celine's mom and 2 sister hosted a wedding shower at their home in Richmond.
There was so much food....here are pictures of all the food that we enjoyed .....(there was so much!)
Cranberries and cream cheese pinwheels.
Delicious Chocolate Cupcakes
The house was decorated in hues of silver, white and turquoise -- and the table was set and sprinkled with matching confetti -- so pretty! One of my favourite things that we did was to write down what we thought was the perfect date tthat Celine and Eric could go on. We wrote on little cards, and signed the cards with our name then put all of the cards in a jar!
The dates were all truly unique....and they ranged from very sweet and romantic to very exciting and naughty. Celine and Eric don't have an excuse to not go out for a date because they don't have any ideas -- this jar made sure of that!
Here are more pictures of everyone that came out to join us that day:
Celine (in pink) with her bridesmaids -- her 2 sisters, Stephanie & Carolyn and her friend, Elaine.
A little posed shot as we were enjoying all the food :)
More good friends!
Everyone got to leave with a little token of the day -- candles in heart shaped tins!
And of course, this blog post would not be complete without a couple of final pictures of the big day itself. Here are the happy newlyweds in some of their first shots as husband and wife!
Celine wore a beautiful wedding dress -- so elegant! And Eric was dashing in his blue suit. I may be a bit biased but don't they make the most amazing looking couple??
And so another one of my nieces gets hitched. I am so lucky to have so many nieces and nephews -- I love weddings and as each one of them gets married, the love in the family grows as we welcome a new member into the fold. On this day, we welcomed Eric. He has loved Celine since they were teenagers, and we are so happy that he is now family (even if we already thought of him as that way before today!)
Congratulations Celine & Eric -- may you have many wonderful years together.
