My niece is getting married next month. Thus, it was time to shop for a snazzy new suit for Trevor. When I brought this up, and I suggested buying a new suit, I got a look full of daggers. Okay, maybe not daggers.....he wasn't mad, but I could tell he thought shopping for a new suit was pointless because he already owned a sports jacket and a good pair of dress pants + a white shirt. So I will take back my comment about daggers, and say he gave me a look full of butter knives. (not as sharp as daggers, ya' know?) But you see.....a sports jacket + dress pants + white shirt does not equal a suit. And I thought he really would look good in a suit. He finally agreed to go shopping for a suit (like pulling teeth, I tell you) . You have to understand, Trevor likes to wear jeans and t-shirts -- he is a trained aircraft mechanic and worked as a marine electronics technician for years. He lives in jeans and a t-shirt. But reluctantly, I got him into a men's store and we shopped for the dreaded suit.
Here he is being fitted for his brand new, ultra sleek suit in dark charcoal gray. He looked absolutely dashing wearing it! We also got him a lilac/purple shirt with matching paisley tie.....which he resisted again cause he doesn't like paisley but I got him to agree to buying it finally.
The suit needs some alterations, but should be ready to pick up in a week -- in plenty of time for the wedding. Now I have to go and shop for a dress!
I haven't yet posted a Christmas family photo, so here are a couple!
This was taken Christmas morning, right after we opened up our presents. After this was taken, we all went for Christmas lunch at my brother's place with the entire family. See below:
I'm still kind of wondering where time went, because here we are well into January already. They say time flies when you are having fun, and I have to say at this stage in my life, I truly am having fun and I am truly blessed. There is so much love and happiness in my life that I feel I need to share it. So everyday, I try to make other people happy with a kind word or gesture....the smallest things to you might mean something big to others. So don't think that you can't do anything for someone else that won't mean a lot to them. Just reach out with a smile or a kind word, some days that's all it takes!
Happy thoughts to you all!
