Trevor is a great cook....much better than myself I'm sorry to say. While we were in Whistler last month, he made us a fantabulous vegetarian pasta sauce!
Chef Trevor in the kitchen preparing our dinner !!
First things first -- the vegies! We cut up onions and red peppers.
Sauteed everything in some butter. Coconut oil would have been better, but we only had butter in our vacation home this time.
Then we added a basic marinara sauce and some fresh spinach for added nutrients and texture.
Lastly, we added more cut up tomatoes and simmered everything together so the flavours set nicely. And that's it! A great vegetarian sauce that is filling and healthy :)
I still struggle to find time to enjoy my crafting. I used to craft i.e. rubber stamping and scrapbooking a lot...but now life is different and I have so much else I want to do, that my crafting has taken a back seat....which makes me kind of sad sometimes :(
However for Father's day last month, I was asked to make some gifts for friends and this is what I came up with.
I filled a mason jar with chocolate truffles and made a tag using Stampin' Up's Chalk Talk set (pic of the set is below). I love this blue and I added a bit of red for some "pop". And one more important tip: buy more truffles than you need, because then you get to eat some!
You can't go wrong with turquoise and red! I have always loved these 2 colours together :)
The Chalk Talk stamp set comes with all the images below. It is a fantastic stamp set!
We had some new flooring installed due to a washing machine flood a couple of months ago and I had to move everything out of the living and dining room into the master. As I started to put everything back in its rightful place, it spurred me to organize some of the drawers and closets.
I arranged all the tupperware by size and shape and found a box to file all the lids in one spot....no more rooting around a messy drawer for matching bottoms and lids! Whether I'm storing my plastic storage containers in a drawer, cabinet, or some other hidden spot in my kitchen, you can bet that it is one of my least favorite places to organize.
It's amazing when you add up all the time we waste hunting for lids (and socks for that matter!). Tupperware is so handy, but unless you are organized storing them in a drawer can be a bit of a messy situation.
That's all for now, folks! I haven't been blogging as much as I used to, but I do try. If you are a subscriber, please bear with me. The subscriptions are free, so understand that if I don't post for quite some time, It's cause I'm busy. I'll eventually get a post up sooner or later :)
