For Christmas, Trevor and I gave my nephew Marty and his wife Eileen some dinner and a movie certificates and we threw in the babysitting as well. They have 3 amazing kids: Marcus, Emma and Noah. This past weekend was the weekend they chose to redeem this gift....and wouldn't you know it....Trevor is in Alaska and so I had to figure out how I'd handle these 3 bundles of energy by myself!! Solution??? Call in the troops. I brough Alyssa and Zain along with me and Jordan and Erika came by an hour after we arrived. With 5 adults and 3 kids, I thought --- we can do this!!
We had a great time. Here are pictures of our Saturday with Marcus, Emma and Noah :)
We had just arrived when this was taken....and Noah was still napping, so we were trying to be quiet.
Soon Noah was up and he entered the family room, looked around bewildered staring at us as if to say, "why are you here?.....you weren't here before I fell asleep!" and then he joind Marcus and Emma on the carpet and they played Lego Marvel for a little bit.
These 3 are full of energy....but Noah alone has the energy of both his older siblings. So I thought we should play outside ..... Noah was starting to run around the house and I knew it would only be a matter of time before his head would hit a coffee table, a wall or some other object in the house. So outside we went......and everyone had a great time!
The water guns came out -- cause there's nothing better to play with on a warm day than water!!
I gave them strict instructions not to get me wet because I was holding the camera. I am happy to say that they followed instructions precisely -- they ran around and aimed their water guns at Alyssa and Zain....but as you can see from the pictures, Zain got most of the water!
Then Jordan and Erika arrived, and out came the football!
While they played outside, I made spaghetti and pizza inside and after all that running around the troops came in and enjoyed their dinner!
We had a wonderful Saturday with these 3. I love all my nieces and nephews, but I specially love their children!
Tomorrow is Friday -- are you ready for the weekend? Whatever you have planned, remember to keep smiling and don't sweat the small stuff. Be kind and spread sunshine and joy. If you have nothing planned for this weekend, at least plan to make someone happy. A simple gesture is all it takes...open the door for someone, smile at someoene, compliment someone....the list goes on. Give of yourself. If you give out love, it will come back to you in spades. Trust me.
