The house deal is final. All subjects were removed this past Monday. The sale closes on November 28 and possession transfers to the buyers on that day. Which gave me 2 months to find and move into a new place. It didn't take me long however, to find a place we both liked (Alyssa and myself).....a condo in central Richmond -- close to the main library, the mall, and the bus stop that will take Alyssa right to school. We take possession of the condo on November 1, which is great as we have a month to vacate the house so I can move things slowly.
The house inspection brought to light that one of the fireplaces wasn't working. We never used this fireplace - in the family room -- just the one in the living room. So Mr. Fix-it a.k.a. Trevor set to work figuring out what was wrong with it.
We (by that I mean Trevor....) thought that perhaps all we needed to fix the fireplace was a one broken part.....but after some testing it appeared to be that we indeed needed a brand new millivolt gas valve. Thank goodness Trevor knows how to fix things....makes house repairs so much more economical. We will order the valve and Trevor will install it. We then decided to leave the candle in the fireplace, take a pic of it and then sent the pic to our realtor with one word in the email. "FIXED!" A lit candle does count as a fire, does it not?
There you go. Fire lit. Fireplace fixed :) Hopefully our buyers accept this solution. It's a more economical way to heat the house -- no gas required.
I am going to be teaching a Christmas class the end of this month at the Hamilton Community Centre. We will make 3 holiday cards and one all occasion card. Here is one of the Christmas cards we will make in class.
I used one of the sets in the holiday catalog called "Special Season".
I love the font used in this set and the greeting is generic enough that it can be used as a greeting that will appeal to all. Have you started thinking of Christmas yet? It's only a little over 2 months away!
Trevor and I will be in Hawaii for a week starting this Friday. We are looking forward to some R & R. I'll bring my laptop.... so I'll be blogging from there :)
Have a great rest of the week.
