I'm back from a lovely 10 days away last week. I didn't want my week to end, but end it did and I returned to work with a sore throat, runny nose and some tightness in my chest. I was at work yesterday, the very embodiment of a walking petri-dish of disease. Thinking back I should have stayed home, but I felt guilty being away for a week and then coming back to phone in sick the first day. So off to work I went. I survived. I have these tools that helped me through yesterday -- I like to call them my weapons of Snot Destruction.
Cough Drops
Lots of them! I bought the biggest bag of cough drops I could find and I have them in my pocket, my purse, and all sorts of hiding places. The bag sits on the kitchen counter where I can grab as much as I can when needed. They came in handy on the ride into work on the train.
OMG....I love this. It's great for moisturizing lips but when you have to blow your nose every 5 minutes, this stuff works great keeping it smooth and soft. I think my nose has seen more Burt's Bees action than my lips this past 3 days. Very soothing. I have 2 of them. One in my pocket and one in my purse. Thanks to T (love you lots!) for providing them for me.
Cold FX and Buckley's
When you are living in Cough & Snotsville, these 2 bottles will be your best friend. Buckley's tastes like death, but it really soothes your throat. It's liquid menthol and it permeates your entire being. Cold FX, of course is a daily defence medicine that boosts your immune system. It's primary ingredient is ginseng. You will not get immediate relief, but I believe it shortens the time frame you are sick and also helps by lessening the intensity of the symptoms. I use it all the time.
I'm still sick, though much better. At this point, only rest will do the trick, so I"m glad I am off today. Just one more day of work (tomorrow), then it's my weekend.
A NEW CLASS;
I have a new class using the Stampin' Up set from the Occasions Mini called "Mouthwatering". Here are the images in the set.
This stamp set consists of all solid images, so if you don't like colouring in images, this is the set for you. You basically ink up the image, stamp it and you're good to go. Below are the 4 cards featured in the class.
I used pigment ink and vanilla embossing powder on the watermelon and ice cream images....so these cards smell absolutley delectable! Below are some close ups of a couple of the cards.
This class is running in my studio in Richmond, B.C. in the next couple of weeks. If you live in Metro Vancouver and are not yet on my email list for class updates, email me and I'll add you to it if you are interested.
Have a great Wednesday everyone -- 2 more days till the weekend. 1 day for me. Yay!
