Border Punches are a great way to add a design element to any project. Here I've used the scallop trim border on baja breeze cardstock.
Next, I glued the border behind the black strip of cardstock so just a bit of it shows.
And the final card is below.
Next time you want to add just a little bit extra to your card, try a border punch!
Yesterday was my Holiday Blitz Stamping Event here in Richmond, B.C. I, along with a bunch of very talented and creative ladies spent an entire day creating. It was a day of fun, friendship, laughing and creative sharing. Instead of telling you what we did, I'll let the pictures tell most of the story.

My all day Holiday Blitz Event is coming up! All day this coming Saturday, September 24 I'll be hosting an all day event at the Holiday Inn Vancouver Airport in Richmond. It will be a packed day of creating with fun sprinkled throughout the entire day. This is my second time doing this for my customers and the last time we did this was so much fun! Here's a peek at one of the projects featured in the third class of the day, "Gifts & Stocking Stuffers". This one is a gift card holder.
This is the gift card holder, all closed up with the belly band in place.
Once removed, (simply slip off the belly band) the actual gift card holder can be opened up.
The inside reveals a pocket with a top opening that conveniently holds a gift card.
Here is a close-up of the belly band, featuring the snowman from the Button Buddies stamp set stamped 3 times in a row and embellished with some glitter. Hope you can join me this weekend!
Yes, this is an older stamp set. I had set out yesterday to design my next class but started off by making a birthday card for a friend using this set. One thing led to another.....I really liked the card I made, so I kept going. I was on a roll and this stamp set just seemed to inspire me yesterday. A couple of hours later with no difficulty, I had my next class. 4 cards just rolled out my head, just like that. Some days it's like pulling teeth trying to come up with new designs, other days it's like breathing. It's when I'm on a creative roll like yesterday that I just shut myself off to the rest of the world and just live in my studio. So yes, the Fifth Avenue Floral set is from the old catalogue....it is not retired and yes, there are many new stamp sets that have come out, but for this class we are not using any of them. This one just seemed to call my name. Below are the images to the set and the cards featured in the class.
I love how the cards turned out and if you like the pics online, you just wait till you see them in person. Online pics just do not do the actual projects any justice. The class info is as follows:

Today was officially the first day of school, though the kids only went for an hour. Tomorrow, full session starts, so it's back to the 3 R's for kids everywhere! Timing wise summer and Mr. Sun could not be more off. The forecast for the next week is nothing but sun with temperatures in the mid to high 20's, possibly in the low 30's. Not gonna be pretty on those schoolbuses full of sweaty kids.!
This is my nephew, Joshua. He is a cutie pie! He recently came to spend the afternoon with us. We gave him a cookie and I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.
He finally did eat the cookie. But not before he dunked it, swished it, crushed it and smooshed it into water. Delicious. And fun. The best way to eat cookies. Don't you wish we all thought like kids? Life would be much simpler.
