I use a variety of embellishments on all my projects, most notably pearls and rhinestones. However, I use other tools as well which always seem to fly under the radar, i.e. ribbon and markers.
For this card, I used the Faith in Nature stamp set combining Marina Mist and Early Espresso cardstock and ink. The flower centres are embellised with basic pearls. The ribbon adds that extra 3D look-- it is done simply by laying a length of sticky strip on the card and then I adhered the ribbon on top of that sticky strip using a folding motion to create the ruffle. Easy, peasy.
The sentiment on the bottom is done using Stampin' Write markers. I used the Marina Mist and the Early Espresso marker to selectively colour in the words in my greeting. You simply turn your stamp upside down so the rubber faces up and colour directly onto the red rubber with your selected colour and then stamp! The 2 colours on the one greeting add interest and draws the eye to your card even more as it ties in with the overall colours on the card. Here's a close up:
Next time you make a card, try using your markers. You'll be surprised how much you will use them more, once you give it a try!
This card is so beautiful! :) I love how you used the markers to color the words different colors :D
