It's the last weekend in June. Amazing. Time is just whizzin' by. Alyssa is now in grade 10 and Jordan is midway through university. How is that even possible? I still remember holding them as newborns, being up all night as their teeth came in, first days of school and crying fits, not wanting me to leave and separation anxiety. Now the greatest anxiety they feel is when the internet is down and they've lost access to their instant messaging and their social neworking. I have to laugh.
Look how they've grown! The wonderful thing is that they've grown to be kindhearted, wonderful human beings who I love and love me back. It is life's best blessing.
Having said that, it doesn't take away the fact that it is still important to get away as a couple and leave the kidlets behind. Jordan is an adult now and as such, we trust him to take care of the house and his sister so Doug & I can have a weekend away for some rest and relaxation. This weekend we are spending some quality time together at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler. We've been here before and it is super awesome. We have a timeshare right across the street from this place at Club Intrawest Whistler, but we got such a super deal on this stay at the Fairmont and they have a world class spa and fitness centre there, so we decided to stay there for this visit.
I'm in the midst of teaching new classes and here is a sample for one of the classes coming up called Pretty Postage. Signups are currently going on, and spots are going fast, so if you live in Metro Vancouver and would like to join in the fun, email me for signup details!
Have a super weekend and don't forget to spend quality time with the ones you love!
Nice kids. The acorn falls not far from the tree.
