Monday, Monday.

Today is Monday, July 13 and I didn't have to go to work!!  Yeah!  So nice to have a day off to just stay home and do whatever I want....so what did I do??  Well first of all I baked cookies...so yummy.

 

These cookies were so good piping hot out of the oven.  Here is the recipe.

White & Milk Chocolate Nut Cookies

• 1 cup butter, softened
• 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
• 1/2 cup white sugar
• 2 eggs
• 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
• 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1 cup coarsely chopped macadamia nuts
• 1 cup coarsely chopped white chocolate (or 1/2 white and 1/2 milk chocolate)
   
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

1. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla and almond extracts. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually stir into the creamed mixture. Mix in the macadamia nuts and white chocolate. Drop dough by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
2. Bake for 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden brown

After baking (and eating!) cookies I went down to my studio to play with my stamps.  I ended up making these and I love the way they turned out!

I made several of this card in preparation for upcoming craft fairs and to sell at the store I work at. 

Yesterday, I received some beautiful flowers from my niece Taren as a thank you for helping her out with her wedding invitations.  

  

Her wedding is 2 weeks away, and we are getting excited as we wait for her big day!  I do love weddings and my family knows how to throw some pretty awesome weddings -- if you are a reader of my blog, you will know what I mean.  We love to dance the night away.  I'll be sure to post pics of her big day.
