Look what's outside my window......
If our cars could talk right now they would be swearing at us!! We have a full double garage, but we've remodeled and converted one side into a gym and the other side is my craft studio. So both cars are parked in our driveway. Don't you feel sorry for them?? So while all the snow in the world (or so it seems) is coming down on us outside, I've holed myself up here in my craft studio and am finishing up all the last minute gifts, etc that I need for tomorrow. I made the usual batch of handmade cards for all my sisters.....(to my sisters, if you are reading this, then you've just ruined your Christmas).....cause this is one of the cards you will be getting. All I used for this card is one lonely little flower stamp. I just stamped it repeatedly to create the row of 3 and then stamped a whole bunch of them to cut out so that I could pop one up on the top of the middle image of 3. I watercolored using my waterbrush by picking up ink right from the lid of my inkpads. I get lots of ink on the lid by squeezing a couple of drops of the reinker onto it, then I use it as a palette. First I watercolored a base of really light pink (Stampin' Up's Pretty in Pink) then highlighted with a darker pink (Pink Passion). Then after it was all done, I cut out all my flowers to use for my pop-up detail. I made a whole load of these cards -- once I get going, I kinda can't stop. It's like a steamroller effect! With having this darned snow, I haven't been able to make it to the gym for 2 days, so have been working out here. We do have everything we need here to workout -- all the weights and machines, etc....but I miss the gym. Yesterday, I ran 4 miles on our treadmill and I must say I do sweat more in our gym here as opposed to the actual gym. Wonder why??? It's not any wamer here, in fact our gym here is in our converted garage -- and it's colder! All our weights here are Doug's so I do have a bit of a problem doing weight training here, cause everything is set to his workout, and it's all so freakin' heavy. The lightest weights he has are 12 pounders. I like to do many reps, and the heaviest weights I use are 10 lbs on each hand. I've had to use the heavier weights at home, with less reps. Tonight we are meeting at my sister's place (if the snow allows us to leave our street, anyway)....for Christmas Eve dinner. My sister makes a mean turkey with all the trimmings. Mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, lots of gravy, rice.......hmmmmmm. So good. So that means, this afternoon I will be running like a madwoman on my treadmill!
Wow...yeah, I'd be mad if I was your car! They are jealous of your craft stuff! LOL.
Beautiful cards. Love how cheerful they are. Stark contrast to the harshness of the snow pictures above.
