.....tomorrow! How fast did this summer go??? Too fast. I went back to school clothes and supply shopping and my wallet is really feeling it. Why do kids cost so much money? There's my daughter who had a field day shopping for clothes at the Gap, La Senza Girl and the dreaded Lululemon. What a little fashion plate she is. Jordan loves clothes as well -- but more just to impress the girls than anything else -- and he buys his own with his own money now that he works. Thank goodness cause he will be costing me a fortune next year when he enters UBC. I bought binders for them and I found these really cute binders at Staples that had velcro closures, and pockets with magnets to hold them shut and I bought one for Alyssa and one for Jordan. When I got home I showed them their binders and Alyssa loved hers, but Jordan gave me this horrified look and said, "Mom -- I'm going into grade 12, not grade 5." So back we went to return what I thought was a fancy, schmancy binder in exchange for what he wanted -- which was plain white binders -- 6 of them, one for each subject. I'm glad most of it is over -- there might be some other lists of supplies sent home once shool starts, but for the most part -- they are ready!
Today we did the final touches to my next video tutorial -- I hope to have that linked to this site sometime this week. But in the meantime here's another card I made.
I used my cuttelbug and the swiss dot embossing folder to create the white background. This swiss dot folder is my fave one at the moment. It is so handy to have these around, so what I usually do is crank out a bunch of these textured backgrounds in different colors so that I have them ready when I need them. The image of the flowers is colored in using my Stampin' Up! markers. I used: Summer Sun, More Mustard, Ceamy Caramel and Old Olive. I thought of popping out the little ladybug crawling on the side of the flower pot, but he was so tiny so I popped up the flower centers instead!
Later!
