First of all if you notice a post missing, you are right. I had a post before this using the Stitched Exotics stamp set, but I've had to remove it as it has gone out for publication. I've received emails from people asking what happened to it -- no you are not crazy and you did not imagine that post!
Just got some new stamps to play with today and I made this.
This card uses a stamp for the SU set called "A Flower for All Seasons". When I saw this set, I knew I had to have it. I also used this gorgeous patterned paper from the Basic Grey Eva line called Extravagance. You can get some of it here. I thought the colors lent themselves beautifully to the image. I love to watercolor, but for this card I opted out of that coloring medium and grabbed my copic markers instead. I used YG03 (yellow green) and R83 (Rose mist). To create a darker center in the flowers, I just went over the image twice with my rose mist copic marker to create a darker hue of the same color. I didn't have a darker marker in the correct color family on hand, so when that happens, I simply use the same marker and go over the area twice. I then used my waterbrush to watercolor the planter in a grey tone using my Basic Grey inkpad. I used the same color to ground the images. THen I restamped just the little frog on certainly celery cardstock, cut him out (yes I am crazy to cut out that image....specially his little legs....!) and then popped him up on the original. I quite like how it turned out!
To make him (I mean froggie!) stand out I just added some glossy accents by Ranger on top of him. It's hard to see, but the flower centers also have a bit of glossy accents and some glitter sprinkled on top. The image is stamped on white bazill cardstock that I ran through my cuttlebug using my Nestabilities dies. The greeting is from Papertrey's Faux Ribbon set.
.....later...!
Wow! I absolutely love this card. Thank you for sharing it.
